In the US, the FCC will be voting on December 14th on a plan to repeal the Net Neutrality regulations imposed in 2015. These regulations treated the internet like a commodity that people couldn't pay more for in order to get into an 'internet fast-lane'. It treated the internet like a utility, similar to water or power. Repealing Net Neutrality would undo all of this.
On July 12, they tried to initially do this, but people making their voices heard helped defeat the plan. Now they're trying again and hiding behind the craziness of the winter holidays to distract people from the very serious issue at hand.
You can find more concise and detailed information [in this post] about what the dismantling of Net Neutrality means for you, and how you can contact your Representatives to encourage them to keep the Net Neutral.
Even if you are not a US citizen, you can still leave comments of the FCC 17-108 bill that plans to destroy american net neutrality. all you have to do is mark "international address" when you fill out a comment (via clicking express) from this link www.fcc.gov/ecfs/search/procee…

The FCC has five seats, and the 3/5 are Republicans who will likely vote for the dismantling of Net Neutrality. FCC Chief and creator of this bill, Ajit Pai, is determined to repeal Net Neutrality.
Ultimately, this would increase the cost of fast internet and access to certain sites and information. ISPs could end up censoring content that they don't want their consumers to see.
Giants like Amazon and Netflix and Youtube, as well as social media websites like Reddit are strongly against Ajit Pai's plans, as it would likely limit consumers' access to their sites.
Nobody wants to pay more for internet features that we are already guaranteed to have under Net Neutrality.
A lot of Democrats and some Republicans don't like the idea of this, so the more you call them, the more likely you're going to be able to influence them.
CALLING DAILY IS THE MOST EFFECTIVE MEANS OF CONTACTING YOUR REPRESENTATIVES, AS THEY ARE AWARE OF BOT-CONSTRUCTED MESSAGES BEING USED, AND ARE LESS LIKELY TO LISTEN TO THOSE. EACH MESSAGE COUNTS, BUT CALLING IS THE MOST EFFECTIVE MEANS BECAUSE IT'S HARD TO IGNORE UNLIKE LETTERS, EMAILS, AND FAXES.
Contact them as much and as often as you can! Original messages are the most effective, aside from calling.

IF YOU ARE NERVOUS ABOUT CALLING ....
"You can use resistbot to send faxes to your reps and the stance app to pre-record your message so you won’t have to speak to anyone. (available in both google play and app store)"
